Machine Learning as a design material: what you should learn today to design for ML tomorrow
Lightning talk - in English
We often hear news about ML solving new tasks. It’s easy to start thinking that more and more different problems can be solved by ML. What is the future like when the machines get smarter and smarter? And what is our role in it?
Instead of fearing this future, we should focus on shaping it and defining our roles ourselves. The first step is to get curious on what ML can do. Understanding its potential and limitations will help us make better design decisions.
In this talk we will walk through the types of problems that ML is good at. This basic understanding will get you more attentive to the daily tasks that can be solved by ML and to consider how it should be done with a human user in mind.
